About

History

Dr. “Pat” Robertson had an inspired vision of establishing a graduate-level institution that would train capable men and women for the challenge of representing Christ in their professions. In 1977,his vision materialized - a 70-acre parcel of land in Virginia Beach was cleared,the foundation was poured for the university’s first building, and an institution was incorporated as “CBN University.”

Research

Extending our outreach and influence in the world, Regent University’s psychology and counseling research centers provide you the opportunity to participate in events and workshops led by prestigious mental health care professionals, increase your knowledge through research in psychology and counseling, and prepare you for certifications and continuing education credits.

Library services

Special Collections & Archives has been an integral part of the Regent Community and Regent University Library. It is the home for objects relevant to Regent’s history, culture, and academic scholarship. It continues to acquire, organize and preserve a treasure trove of unique primary research materials and rare and meaningful resources for scholars and researchers on campus and around the world. 

ICT services

The Information Technology Help Desk is pleased to announce expanded Blackboard Support. Regent University has partnered with Blackboard Support Services to provide Students, Faculty, and Staff with 24/7 expert support for Blackboard.

Our students, faculty and staff are important to us. That is why we strive to make our facilities and courses as accessible as possible for those among us with disabilities. Student Life

Campus life

Living on campus is a positive, safe and engaging experience at Regent. Students enjoy community-building activities with their hall mates, facilitated by Resident Assistants (RAs), participate in weekly Life Group meetings, and learn how to live as part of a greater community. Regent offers two housing options to fit your needs: Regent Commons and Regent Village. 

Sports facilities

Whether you are a spectator or competitor in your sport of choice, Hampton Roads offers a wide variety of local and college sports, such as football, golf, racing, and hockey.

Student clubs

The Office of Student Activities & Leadership’s main goal and purpose is to create student enhancement and campus engagement, whether you are an on-campus, online or commuter student.We do this through programs, over 65+ student organizations, leadership opportunities, and experiences that allow Regent students to apply what they learn in the classroom. Getting involved is a great way for students to meet new people, enhance their leadership skills, and be an active part of student life.

  • Regent University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associates, baccalaureate, masters, and doctorate degrees.
  • The American Bar Association (ABA) fully approves the School of Law. 
  • Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)
  • The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP), a specialized accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), has accredited the following programs in the School of Psychology & Counseling: Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling,
