International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) provides a number of services for current international students, including support and information about student employment, health coverage and others. ISSS provides immigration advising which allows international students to achieve their academic, professional and research goals. By facilitating cross-cultural connections, we create opportunities to develop a sense of belonging at UK.
UK has recently invested over $450 million in state-of-the-art residence halls. With 18 residence halls across North and South campus, living on campus is a great way to find community, meet new people, and integrate into the U.S. culture. Additionally, students can join one of UK's many Living Learning Programs (LLPs), designed for students to learn where they live and enjoy many social and cultural activities exclusively for LLP residents.
Students can access nine libraries on the UK campus, including the central William T. Young Library, which has the second largest book endowment in the United States. It houses a general undergraduate collection and social sciences, humanities, business, biology and agricultural materials. It also offers computer labs, private study rooms, an auditorium, multimedia rooms and the largest Starbucks on a U.S. college campus.
Students seeking IT support can contact Information Technology Services via phone or e-mail. Additionally, students can meet with an IT specialist at several campus locations. All students gain access to Microsoft and Adobe software upon enrollment.
Health coverage is very important and health insurance is required. UK requires all international students (on an F-1, J-1, or J-2 visa) to have qualifying health coverage. International students are automatically enrolled in the UK Student Health Plan (SHP) when they register for classes. The cost of SHP will be added to your student bill.

UK has three state-of-the-art indoor recreation facilities, including an aquatic center, a climbing wall, basketball courts, and more! UK also has four outdoor recreation facilities including tennis courts, and soccer and football fields. You can also find a newly renovated gym in the brand new $200 million Gatton Student Center. UK has 22 Division I sports teams, competing at the highest level in NCAA competitions.
