UK has more than 350 active partnerships with more than 100 universities worldwide to support research, student and faculty exchange, cultural exchange & faculty development. UK has 55 research centers and a nationally-ranked library with more than 4.6 million volumes.


UK has a wide array of resources available that allow students to prepare for a successful entry into the workforce. International students have additional resources such as "GoinGlobal," a database connecting students with prospective H1B and green card sponsors.

Student services

International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) provides a number of services for current international students, including support and information about student employment, health coverage and others. ISSS provides immigration advising which allows international students to achieve their academic, professional and research goals. By facilitating cross-cultural connections, we create opportunities to develop a sense of belonging at UK.

Housing services

UK has recently invested over $450 million in state-of-the-art residence halls. With 18 residence halls across North and South campus, living on campus is a great way to find community, meet new people, and integrate into the U.S. culture. Additionally, students can join one of UK's many Living Learning Programs (LLPs), designed for students to learn where they live and enjoy many social and cultural activities exclusively for LLP residents.

Library services

Students can access nine libraries on the UK campus, including the central William T. Young Library, which has the second largest book endowment in the United States. It houses a general undergraduate collection and social sciences, humanities, business, biology and agricultural materials. 

ICT services

Students seeking IT support can contact Information Technology Services via phone or e-mail. Additionally, students can meet with an IT specialist at several campus locations. All students gain access to Microsoft and Adobe software upon enrollment.

What's it really like to be a Wildcat? In a word – awesome! The University of Kentucky can provide you with a world-class education, filled with the possibility of new ideas and learning experiences that will prepare you for the future. But life on campus also offers plenty of other experiences beyond what takes place solely in a classroom.

Living on campus makes it easy to meet new people who share your interests; UK's Living Learning Program allows you to live and study subjects and topics with other students right in your residence hall. Outside your room, you can explore dozens of great dining options ranging from home-cooking to international fare.

Sports facilities

UK has three state-of-the-art indoor recreation facilities, including an aquatic center, a climbing wall, basketball courts, and more! UK also has four outdoor recreation facilities including tennis courts, and soccer and football fields. You can also find a newly renovated gym in the brand new $200 million Gatton Student Center. UK has 22 Division I sports teams, competing at the highest level in NCAA competitions.

A great way to complement your education and enjoy a unique American educational experience is joining a student club or organization. Research shows that students who are involved with a student organization are more connected to their university and perform better in the classroom. When I came to UK, I was beyond excited to get a fresh start at an out of state college. I am a member of a business honors cohort and a sorority, so I have definitely been able to make a large campus very close-knit. While I do love the classes I am taking, I find that most are not as challenging as I was expecting from college courses. This factor really helps my GPA,...
