At the Kinesiology and Health Promotion - Health Promotion MSc program offered at University of Kentucky you will be prepared to embrace a variety of positions in the health promotion field, including careers in healthcare facilities, public health departments and public health policy agencies, schools and universities, the non-profit sector, and many other businesses and industries.

Our health promotion courses prepare students to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) examination, a professional credential widely respected in the health promotion field. Our program has a required internship that you can complete from wherever you are, helping you gain valuable hands on experience to stand out to employers.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) projects positions for health educators and community health workers to increase significantly from 2018-28. Health educators in all industries earned a median annual wage of $54,200 in 2018, while those employed specifically in hospitals earned a median annual wage of $64,800 in the same year. Those with graduate degrees are poised for leadership positions and better earning potential.

GPA requirement: 2.75 or higher
Resume/CV
Personal Statement: A professional goal statement describing the applicant’s professional background, motivations for seeking a graduate education in this specialty area, why the current program is an ideal fit, and career/research aspirations.
Three letters of recommendation: At least two must be from a person with direct knowledge of applicant’s academic capabilities (e.g., instructor, research supervisor, advisor, etc.).
