About

History

UCSC opened in 1965 with 650 students. Today, the campus is home to 16,231 undergraduate and 1,637 graduate students.

Education

Undergraduates pursue course work in 65 majors in the arts, engineering, humanities, physical and biological sciences, and social sciences. Graduate students work toward master's degrees, doctoral degrees, and graduate certificates in 41 academic programs.

Housing services

  • The Transfer Community, allows transfer students to benefit from an academically and socially supportive environment.
  • The Village, is a unique community for continuing students.
  • Redwood Grove, is a community where undergraduate students from all colleges can live together.
  • The University Town Center (UTC), houses students amidst all that downtown has to offer. Continuing, transfer, and re-entry students are eligible to live here.
  • Graduate Student Housing is an intimate community housing just 82 students.
  • Family Student Housing: Offers a unique living experience for students and their families
  • Camper Park is a unique facility which offers options rarely available in student housing.

ICT services

The Advisory Committee for Information Technology (ACIT) provides a forum for reviewing, evaluating, and recommending strategies, plans, and policies for campus information technology in order to support and advance campus priorities.
