History
Mahidol University has its origins in the establishment of Siriraj Hospital in 1888 by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V), and the hospital’s medical school is the oldest institution of higher learning in Thailand, granting its first medical degree in 1893.
Education
For over three decades, Mahidol University has been providing quality liberal arts education to students from around Thailand and the world.
Research
Contributing to the university’s continual pursuit of research excellence, Mahidol University International College (MUIC) strives to engage high-potential researchers, support multi-disciplinary investigations, and facilitate international collaborations. As the unit responsible for implementing these strategies of the college, the Research Promotion and Management Section (RPM), awards generous research grants, presentation funds, and product rewards to all faculty and staff members. We also organize events such as research seminars and training workshops, as well as provide consultations regarding academic advancement.
Career
The MUIC Career Development Unit assists MUIC students in deciding on possible career paths by providing the tools and information required on the way to graduation and that first job. More specifically, the Unit offers (1) one-on-one advising, (2) employment and internship fairs, (3) programs and workshops designed to facilitate prospective careers, (4) mock interviews and (5) job postings through social media.

International Thai experience
This university is a solid choice when it comes to international in Thailand. Compared to most universities, they are very internationally friendly and often have exchange programs with other students worldwide. However, when it comes to clubs and activities, international students may find it slightly hard to adjust as most students are most comfortable speaking in Thai for the most part. Thus, it's a bit of a problem to find the right community for you.
Mahidol is the Most International College in Thailand
This university is alright. It's probably the most international college in the entire country compared to others. The culture is mostly Thai is expected in Thailand but compared to Thammast university or Chula, this one has the most international students I've ever seen especially during the summer months.
Down‑to‑earth peers
I do enjoy my campus life. Students in this university are very down to earth, so I do not feel outcasted in any way. The facilities still have room to grow, but I've met many incredible professors and got valuable life-long lessons.

ARWU World University rankings is the first world university ranking. It ranks the world's top 1000 colleges and universities based on objective indicator. They look at the number of award-winning (Fields Medals and Nobel Prize) scientists who are located there, how much of their research is cited and referenced around the world, and how much they've contributed to different academic fields. Housing services
Affordable housing is widely available both off and on campus, including shared housing, private flats or condos, and boarding houses. Mahidol University has several dormitories for local and international staff and students. Moreover, affordable off campus housing is also widely available near all campuses. In general, average monthly rent is about 5,000 – 6,000 THB for a 20-30 square meters furnished single room with air conditioning, bathroom and perhaps a balcony. Many apartments require an advance deposit of one or two months’ rent and utility bills are extra. Most apartments will add a surcharge to the basic electricity bill.
Library services
The library is a leading international organization. Supports education, research, and academic services to internal and external personnel by using information technology, promotes and cooperates in the exchange of information with domestic and foreign academic networks.
Medical services
Mahidol University students eligible to use health care services and hospitals throughout Mahidol University campus. The students must show student card with identification card (or passport for foreign students) when they use health care services.
Campus life
Cycling is encouraged as a means for people to commute around campus and in support of the university’s policy to improve the quality of life of its staff and students’. Therefore, bicycles are provided to rent free of charge.
Sports facilities
The Sports Club is part of the MUIC Health Education Program. Competitions are organized between different leagues during the academic year. Normally, a team will practice two to three times a week. There are three different sports activities at MUIC: Soccer, basketball and volleyball. Try-outs for newcomers are held every trimester. In the second trimester several league matches are held while the third trimester features the International Sports Competition and the Freshy Games.
Student clubs
One of the major responsibilities of the MUIC Student Association is supervising its satellites of student clubs. By participating in extra-curricular activities, students not only cultivate their personal communication, team-building and leadership skills but also contribute to the development of the college and the greater community.
