Overview
The Clinical Tropical Medicine program of Mahidol University is taught in English and allows students to participate in research.
With its focus on social medicine, environmental health and environmental toxicology, the Department integrated the concepts of health promotion and disaster management in some of the course syllabi for the first time in 2006 and plans for more coverage in the following years.
Research activities of the Department have expanded to cover both laboratory and field investigations in tropical diseases, such as malaria, dengue hemorrhagic fever, tuberculosis, leptospirosis as well as field surveys of snail intermediate hosts and water quality in Tsunami - affected areas.
