Universities in Bangkok, like most universities in Thailand, start their academic year in August and finish in April, followed by a summer session for exams.

Local universities cover study programmes for undergraduate level (Bachelor’s degree), postgraduate Master’s degree and PhD programmes. You also have the option to enrol in various MBA’s and Master of Science programmes, as well as double degree programmes.

All programmes dedicated to international students are available in English. All students whose first language is not English are demanded to provide an evidence of English language proficiency, mainly TOEFL or IELTS are accepted.

Once enrolled, you can apply for the Thai language classes offered by the language centres of all Bangkok universities.

Study one of the following disciplines: health science, architecture, arts, engineering, education, medicine, law, economics, political science, agriculture, computing and more.

Some universities offer short courses, for example business English, or Thai art.

Thai cuisine is very varied, interesting and affordable, so don’t hesitate to try some of the local products, including desserts like Tong Yip (Flower Egg Yolk Tart), or Khanom Chan (Thai Jello). The nightlife scene is pretty much covered by Khaosan Road and Patpong areas, where you can have fun in many bars and night clubs.

Close to Bangkok, you can see nice places, such as: Go to Hua Hin — a beach resort with waterfalls and national parks, Ko Samet — a beach island with white sand beaches, or Nakhon Pathom — Thailand's oldest city.

Bangkok is among the world's top tourist destinations, so there is a significant international crowd present in the city at all times.

Apart from Thai people, Bangkok is home to several minorities, mainly Chinese and Japanese people, and Burmese, Cambodians, Americans, Australians, Africans and a few from European countries.

Bangkok has three seasons, one hot, one rainy and one cool. However, temperatures are usually hot all year-round, ranging from an average low of 22 °C (71 °F) in December to an average high of 35°C (95°F) in April. September is the wettest month and during summer weather is generally dry, but you can also experience occasional storms.
