The New School was founded in 1919, in New York City by a small group of prominent American intellectuals and educators who were frustrated by the intellectual timidity of traditional colleges. The founders, set out to create a new kind of academic institution, one where faculty and students would be free to honestly and directly address the problems facing societies.
Theere are 134 multidimensional academic programs which free students from conventional boundaries, allowing them to learn deeply from many perspectives. They can explore courses across our colleges and disciplines and become immersed in multiple areas of learning related to their areas of interest. The benefits of this academic freedom are enormous.

The MFA DT program at Parsons - The New School is an amazing program for any designer looking to be encouraged and supported into the field professionally. They work through the fundamentals and help your creative practice into your final thesis. The skills you obtain in such a short two year span is well worth the cost.
Great campus and wonderful professors who are supportive and experienced in the field of study. Networking and building relationships with professors are important! The campus was great, during the pandemic COVID-19 testing was required every 2 weeks, which was important to make sure I felt comfortable being in-person.
I love Parsons School of Design a lot. Its diverse and inclusive community, supportive faculty, and excellent facilities. The school emphasis on hands-on learning, encouraged us to experiment and take risks in our creative work. And also provide numerous opportunities for internships and networking. However, I feel most of the time workload at Parsons is intense, with long hours and tight deadlines. And also living in New York City is very expensive.
