History
Since our founding over 160 years ago, we’ve continually pushed the boundaries of knowledge forward. With our finger on the pulse and an eye on the horizon, we’ve pursued the greatest heights of research and innovation, always together and always for the betterment of Florida and the world.
Education
Before you can lead the charge, you have to discover your calling. So look through our library of 30 certificates, 100 undergraduate majors and 200 graduate programs. Discover your path and start toward your greater purpose.
Research
At UF, our research leads us to collaborate across departments, the state, the nation and the world. Together, our focus is on improving lives—not just in the lab or in theory, but in real life. Because we’re not just discovering breakthroughs or developing new products — we’re shaping the minds that shape the future.
t’s a process that leads to not only stronger minds, but better brains. For example, our McKnight Brain Institute is one of the nation’s most comprehensive and technologically advanced centers devoted to discovering how the normal brain operates, and how we can repair the brain following injury, disease or aging.
Career
We changed our name from the Career Resource Center to the Career Connections Center. It’s a small change from our previous name but it better represents the big impact we can have on your life. This is where Gators bridge the gap between inspiration and action, and where employers are linked to the best talent entering the work force. Whether you’re a student or alumni, the Career Connections Center will help you across the lifespan of your career.
The Career Connections Center has a range of career fairs to fit every recruiting need. From on-campus to virtual events, our fairs give you the opportunity to meet and network with talented University of Florida students and alumni.

Gator academic grind
UF is a great school! Great opportunity and it's always getting better and better! UF has a great culture when it comes to sports and academics. They are a rigorous school that trains their students how to move into their careers with strength.
Great School if you're in state
I think UF offers great resources at an affordable price, especially for in state students with bright futures. The only thing that sucks at UF is the financial aid office and advising.
A Journey of Academic Excellence and Growth
Studying at the University of Swat has been a rewarding experience that shaped my academic and research career. The Department of Botany provided an excellent learning environment, supportive faculty, and well-equipped laboratories that helped me develop strong research and analytical skills. My undergraduate research on the effects of proline seed priming on salt stress tolerance in lentils allowed me to explore plant stress physiology in depth and strengthened my passion for sustainable agriculture and crop improvement. The university’s emphasis on research, mentorship, and innovation encouraged me to excel academically, achieving a 4.0/4.0 CGPA and earning eligibility for the Gold Medal. I particularly appreciated the faculty’s dedication to guiding students in both theoretical and practical aspects of plant sciences. While the research facilities could be further expanded, the quality of education, supportive environment, and opportunities for growth make the University of Swat an outstanding institution for aspiring researchers. Overall, my study experience was deeply fulfilling and has prepared me well for future academic and research pursuits.
