The Master�s programme in Plant Production Sciences has been a very valuable experience for me. It is strongly research focused, which helps me develop important skills such as critical thinking, scientific writing, and data analysis.I really appreciate how the courses are connected to real world agricultural challenges such as sustainability, crop production, and climate change. The programme also covers manyof the latest scientific topics, including developments in plant science and biotechnology. This makes the learning experience more interesting and helps me understand how current research is shaping the future of agriculture. One of the most important parts of the programme is working on research projects. Through this, I gain practical experience in planning experiments, analyzing data, and presenting scientific results. The supervisors are supportive and encouraged independent thinking, which helps me grow academically and personally. I recommend this programme to students who are interested in plant production science and are motivated to develop their research skills, especially if they are considering a future PhD or research career.
It brings the best of both worlds: a very top research and teaching environment and one of the best (if not the) cities of the world to live in. Nature, peace, a public sector that works, the happiest country in the world. If you don't have problems with the cold weather, it is the best place to be. The researching and teaching is also top notch. For PhDs, English is enough. But if you are looking for BS or Masters, than you need to check.
Helsinki University is a diverse and cozy university with high quality teaching and research. The teachers are intelligent and kind and easy to talk to. The programs and subjects are well planned out and the work load for courses are usually decent, not too much or too little. I also loved the student culture and clubs on the campus. Also. If you ever need help with your studies you can always get help and guidance to plan your studies or solve problems.

ARWU World University rankings is the first world university ranking. It ranks the world's top 1000 colleges and universities based on objective indicator. They look at the number of award-winning (Fields Medals and Nobel Prize) scientists who are located there, how much of their research is cited and referenced around the world, and how much they've contributed to different academic fields. After calculating and comparing these criteria, ARWU ranks the universities accordingly.

The International Students want to work in Finland after they graduate, however they often lack professional networks in the Finnish workforce to help give them an edge in finding a job.
To solve this challenge, we have launched the HelsinkiUNI International Talent Programme (HITP), a group mentoring programme, which pairs international students with organisations and companies in Finland who provide mentoring and insight into their work.
For individual alumni and friends of the university, we also have a group-mentoring programme to support international students.
The student dormitory is the largest and can accommodate up to 92 people, with a large common room, two kitchens, a fireplace and two saunas.
Two smaller dormitories, Piikala and Herrala, generally house our longer term guests, teachers and seminar organizers. Each of these dormitories has its own kitchen and common room, and Piikala has its own sauna as well.
The Station also has pet rooms if you wish to bring yours along. Please be sure to ask well in advance about their availability. Please note that there is an additional fee for pet rooms.
Washers and driers are available in Piikala for a small fee. Students can use the washer and drying rooms located in the student dormitory.

Helsinki University Library serves customers in the Main Library in Kaisa House and three libraries on other University campuses and maintains two learning centres.
The Student Union (HYY) enables extracurricular activities by supporting active volunteer work and organisational activities. There are over 250 student organisations operating within the Student Union (HYY) opening up a field of opportunities for you.
