About

History

  • La Trobe University was named after Charles Joseph La Trobe, the first Superintendent of the Port Phillip District and first Lieutenant-Governor of Victoria, who was driven by the need to make a difference to the communities he served. 
  • La Trobe opened in 1967 to 550 students and now accommodates more than 38,000 students via seven campuses across Victoria and New South Wales.

  • Your student recruitment coordinator can answer questions about the course, explain the application process and assist you in compiling your materials.

Yhe University accommodates more than 36,000 students throughout a network of campuses: Melbourne, Albury-Wodonga, Bendigo, Mildura, City (Collins Street), Shepparton and Sydney.

Sports facilities

La Trobe University  is proud to offer a wide variety of sport facilities to La Trobe students, staff and the broader community. The new state-of-the-art La Trobe Sports Stadium is the latest addition to the Sports Park precinct, unlocking a range of opportunities in teaching, research and getting active in sport. 

Whether you want to be at the forefront of the latest sport and exercise science research or are just looking to get moving in sport or active recreation, you are covered. The fitness centres include a fully equipped gym, a 25-metre heated indoor pool, exercise studios for fitness classes, and a range of multipurpose courts and fields.

The La Trobe Student Union supports many diverse clubs and societies. Explore your area of interest, network with like-minded students or learn something new when you join a club.

Accreditation

  • The online Master of Health Administration covers the core competencies outlined by the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM).
  • Some MHA subjects are recognised by the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA). These subjects cover the theory that underpins the experiential components of the Fellowship Training Program in medical administration.
  • The online MBA holds dual accreditations. It’s accredited by EPAS from the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

the teachers were very eager to help and provide me with the stuff i needed. it was quite hard to navigate the website and apply for all the classes, accommodation and find out which books i needed
