The NWCCU is one of six independent regional agencies recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to evaluate the quality and institutional effectiveness of post-secondary institutions. Simon Fraser is being accredited by a U.S. agency because Canada doesnt have a comparable institutional accreditation body.
Overall, I would say that studying at SFU has been a mixed experience. While I enjoyed learning about key management principles, the class structure and teaching quality was very inconsistent and not what I would have expected for a graduate-level professional program. It was apparent that the administration paid little heed to the course evaluations because even though...
In general, I recommend studying at SFU. I find SFU's SCA an excellent place for those who want to grow both as emerging scholars and/or active artists.
