History
Norfolk State College was founded in 1935. The College, brought to life in the midst of the Great Depression, provided a setting in which the youth of the region could give expression to their hopes and aspirations.
Education
All NSU degree programs have been approved by SCHEV and are published on SCHEV's degree inventory website. The University has five academic colleges/schools and 49 degree programs that operate on one campus. The University also offers online programs through NSU Online, an honors degree through the Robert C. Nusbaum Honors College and certificate programs through the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center.

My studies ar nexford university
Nexford university is an online learning platform which provides which provides a flexible learning schedule for its students for a very friendly price . I am currently pursuing my BBA and I have specialized in artificial intelligence .so far my learning experience is great
Nexford: Structured learning, affordable fees, enriching experience
Studying at Nexford University has been a truly rewarding journey for me. What I appreciate most is how thoughtfully the courses are structured. Each subject is broken down in a way that makes it easy to follow, yet still allows you to dive deeply into the content. I never feel rushed; instead, I feel guided step by step, which has helped me build a stronger understanding of each topic. The weekly assignments are another highlight. They don't just test what you've learned, they push you to go beyond the material, to research, explore, and discover new perspectives. This has made me more curious and motivated, and I find myself learning things that go far beyond the classroom. Affordability is also a big factor for me. The monthly fee structure makes quality education accessible, even for those of us who aren't heavy earners. It's reassuring to know that I can pursue my studies without being overwhelmed by financial pressure. Overall, Nexford University has given me more than just knowledge but it has given me confidence, discipline, and the excitement to keep learning. I'm truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this community.

Low level of education and not too flexible
I�m very disappointed with my experience at Nexford University. When I enrolled, the university was advertised as flexible and fast-paced, allowing new students to take two courses at a time and progress quickly. This was a key reason I joined, as I planned my studies and personal commitments around this schedule and even paid extra for transfer credits. Shortly after enrolling, the university changed its policy, new students are forced to take only one course at a time for the first eight courses. This change completely disrupted my plans and created financial and scheduling issues. What�s worse, there is no clear withdrawal or refund process for new students affected by these changes. I contacted customer service at least eight times and requested phone calls three times, but all I received were generic template responses repeating the new policy. No one addressed my actual concerns or offered real solutions, and every attempt to escalate my case went nowhere. The only time I received calls was when I was being sold the program, not when I needed real support. I also scheduled meetings to discuss my academic path, but no one showed up-only to receive an apology message hours later. The coursework itself was underwhelming for me. I finished assignments in about a week and consistently scored over 95%. In many cases, I could have learned the same material from YouTube videos, and the reading materials felt outdated and basic-something AI could easily improve. I do want to mention that the instructors were attentive and helpful, but unfortunately, the overall academic challenge was not there. The new policy might help some students, but for those with prior experience or who want to move faster, it makes the program unnecessarily slow and frustrating. The lack of transparency, poor customer service, and inability to get a refund or even a proper response made this experience even worse. If Nexford is going to change its advertised policies, especially for new students, they should at least offer a way out or a refund option. As it stands, I cannot recommend Nexford to anyone looking for a truly flexible or responsive online university.

Library services
It is the mission of the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library to serve the research needs of our students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community. We enable our patrons to cultivate ideas and create knowledge. Patrons have access to a variety of collections, expertise, services, and equipment to transform information into knowledge thus developing lifelong learners..
Medical services
The Spartan Health Center, located in Spartan Station, provides basic health services for NSU students, including diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, emergency medical care, and health education counseling.
