About

History

  • 1820 Indiana University is founded in Bloomington
  • 1965 IU Kokomo moves to the new campus built on the 57-acre South Washington Street site
  • 1980 The East Building opens
  • 1985 The Observatory, which includes a 96-seat lecture hall opens
  • 1995 The new library opens; it includes the 200-seat Kresge Auditorium and the Art Gallery.
  • 2012 IUK becomes member of the NAIA and adds men’s and women’s cross country

Research

Applied and Community Research Center will contract with your agency to conduct surveys, do data analysis, write reports, and/or help design a study. We also have qualified faculty & students who can conduct program evaluations, do marketing research, or meet your agencies other research needs.

The IU Kokomo Career and Accessibility Center is an integral part of the educational process. Services are tailored to meet the need of each prospective student, current student, alumni, or community member in providing self assessment tools, informed academic and career decisions, experiential learning, professional development growth, and job search techniques that are essential for life-long professional career development.

Student services

The University has an Office of International Student Services:Currently, we are working with over 50 international students and are looking forward to helping you with your decision of where to attend school.We are capable of considering your application at any time of the year, and will do our best to give you an admissions decision within two weeks of receiving your completed application.

Library services

The IU Kokomo Library is the academic hub of the Kokomo campus, offering a large collection of print and electronic materials, as well as computing resources for students, faculty, and staff. The mission of the library is to provide the collections, services, and environments to support and strength the teaching, learning, and search mission of IU Kokomo.

Medical services

Students are required to participate in a yearly mandatory health/safety orientation and complete a written test with a passing grade of 80% or higher.

Campus life

There are many opportunities to become involved in campus life and the local community through activities, organizations and volunteer opportunities. The staff in Student Activities serve as educators, advisors, program planners and event coordinators, who are available to help you make the most of your college experience. Through involvement, you can gain valuable leadership skills, meet new friends, and create and build upon campus traditions. We want to help you succeed as an engaged member of our campus community and as a leader in a global society.

Sports facilities

Student Athletics & Wellness Board (SAWB) is a student organization open to all students at IU Kokomo. SAWB's primary focus is to support the intercollegiate athletic program.
