In 1911 East Tennessee State Normal School opens, 29 students register first day; two courses of study offered, a four-year high school curriculum and a two-year normal school curriculum. Normal School consisted of the departments of education, English, history, science, languages, industrial training, agriculture, and the training school.

The college's business administration programs are fully accredited by AACSB International - The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Additionally, both the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs have a separate AACSB International accounting accreditation.
I love this university. Not only is the campus beautiful, but all of my professors were helpful and knowledgeable. While I did have the option to take some classes online, I prefer to take them in person. I find it helps me retain more of the material.
