General requirements

A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a minimum of 27 credit-hours of history courses.

Unofficial transcripts may be submitted with your application. Official transcripts will be required upon acceptance to a Graduate program.

At least a 3.0 grade point average in upper-level history courses.

Three letters of recommendation from three (3) undergraduate instructors (preferably History).

An application essay (personal statement) of 250-300 words which addresses the specific fields of history you wish to study in the graduate program.

At this time the Graduate Committee does not require submission of GRE scores.

The MA Program does not require demonstrated ability in a foreign language. However, those students hoping to conduct thesis research in languages other than English need to notify the Graduate Coordinator.
