History
Western Reserve College was founded in 1826 in Hudson, Ohio, about 30 miles southeast of Cleveland. The college—the first in northern Ohio—took its name from the surrounding region (known at that time as the Western Reserve of Connecticut) and emphasized standards, such as the classics, in its curriculum.
Education
The university in its present form consists of eight schools:

- Case School of Engineering
- School of Law
- Weatherhead School of Management
- School of Medicine
- Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing
- Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences
The university also supports over a hundred 'Centers' in various fields.

Education and discipline
My decision to attend Case Western Reserve University was a wise one. Case Western's instructors are very remarkable. They are committed to giving students an excellent education and are extremely skilled in their disciplines. Their inventive and captivating teaching strategies make learning genuinely thrilling. The classrooms are modern and cutting edge! They offer a cosy learning environment and are furnished with the newest technology.
This university is cooking
I've really had a great time as a student here. This is due to Western Reserve University's willingness to accept international students and its availability of accommodations, friendly and knowledgeable instructors, and courses. Furthermore, �case western reserve university possesses state of the art facilities such as updated libraries, labs, dorms and research centers. This place seems to offer the ideal balance of intellectual challenge and personal development. The instructors were friendly and often challenged my critical and imaginative thinking.
Discovering My Passion at CWRU
I'm a junior at Case Western Reserve University, and I can confidently say that attending CWRU has been a game-changer for me. The professors here are top-notch, and the research opportunities are unparalleled. I'm a biomedical engineering major, and I've had the chance to work alongside renowned faculty members on cutting-edge projects. Dr. Anant Madabhushi's 'Imaging and Informatics' course was a highlight of my academic journey so far. His passion for medical imaging and machine learning inspired me to pursue a research project in cancer diagnosis. Beyond academics, CWRU's campus life is incredibly vibrant. From cultural events to tech conferences, there's always something happening. I'm part of the CWRU Robotics Club, and we've competed in national competitions, showcasing our innovative projects. Cleveland is an amazing city, too! From the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the Cleveland Museum of Art, there's no shortage of cultural attractions. Plus, the city's revitalization efforts have created a thriving startup scene, offering plenty of internship and job opportunities. My advice to future students? Be prepared to take advantage of every opportunity. CWRU offers a world-class education, cutting-edge research, and a vibrant campus community. Don't be afraid to explore, take risks, and pursue your passions. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose CWRU. It's a truly special place that has helped me discover my strengths, pursue my interests, and prepare for a successful future.

Housing services
The Office of University Housing oversees 12 first year buildings, 8 second year buildings, 9 upperclass buildings, and 18 Greek Life Houses. Our Office also collaborates with the Triangle Towers and the Office of Real Estate to provide living opportunities in local apartment buildings. These spaces have different room layouts, floor plans, and amenities depending on the location and class experience. Accreditation
Case Western Reserve University has been accredited since 1913 by the Higher Learning Commission, one of the six regional agencies that accredit U.S. colleges and universities at the institutional level. In 2015 CWRU was reaccredited by the Commission for ten years, the maximum period possible. The university's next site visit by a Commission team will be in 2025.
