Its distinctive features and character owe much to its unique history and heritage. Maynooth University was formally established as an autonomous university as recently as 1997, yet traces its origins to the foundation of the Royal College of St. Patrick in 1795, making it, simultaneously, Ireland’s youngest university and one of its oldest educational institutions.
We can achieve this transformative change in undergraduate education only because its guiding principles are so embedded in our ethos and practice as an institution, and only because of the strength of our existing curriculum, our forefront research and subject expertise, and the quality of our current student experience at Maynooth. While strengthening our curriculum to reflect contemporary needs, the reimagined Maynooth curriculum allows our students to do more of what Maynooth does best: complement deep knowledge of their subjects with a broad perspective, and learn how to think and work in a way that makes a real difference to the world around them.
Maynooth University is a research-intensive university and, as such, research and scholarship are fundamental to our mission: research contributes to the advancement of human knowledge and understanding, addresses major societal challenges, infuses our teaching and enthuses our students.

Overall a good university, the experience was well. Found it easy to meet with new people based on events organised by the university or if needed help with classes or assignment teachers would be very useful on helping you tackle problems
A great campus with a friendly atmosphere. Lecturers are approachable and are willing to help when you ask for it. Shops are within a walking distance and Dublin city accessible by train and bus.
Its been an interesting journey which to me will be a great achievement. The diversity on campus made me to understand how different interpretations of meaning and perception about the simplest things in life can influence people's behavior.
