Housing services

  • The new freshman residence hall has traditional-style suites designed with two double bedrooms that are connected by a common area and share a private bathroom with a shower.
  • Each bedroom comes furnished with beds, wardrobes, desks, desk chairs and a small refrigerator.
  • The community features a large lounge on the first floor, a game room, multipurpose rooms and a laundromat-style laundry room with coinless washers and dryers.
  • Each residential floor has 15 suites, two resident assistants and a floor lounge.
  • The suites are equipped with an individually controlled air conditioning and heating system. The amenities in each suite include cable, telephone and internet.

Library services

The Nancy Thompson Library of Kean University is a comprehensive information and learning center that offers specialized collections and services designed to meet the academic information needs of the Kean University community. Located in the heart of the Kean campus, the Nancy Thompson Library houses the Library’s print, media, and online collections, with holdings of more than 275,000 volumes.

Kean University Health Services is dedicated to ensuring the health of all students of Kean University whether on the Union campus or the Kean Ocean campus. If you cannot make it into our Union campus office, feel free to call or email us with any questions or concerns.

Student clubs

The Center for Leadership and Service recognizes all student groups (Greek organizations, honor societies, student governments, student clubs and organizations) each semester.  There are more than 160 student groups at Kean University.


Kean's overall university remains accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, the regional accrediting agency that oversees New Jersey colleges, Smith said.
