About
History
Our history can be dated back to 1888, when our forerunner, the Christian College in China, was founded in Guangzhou, and to 1967, when the institution, as Lingnan College, was re-established in Hong Kong. In 2015, Lingnan University was named as one of the “Top 10 Liberal Arts College in Asia” by Forbes.
Education
We offer undergraduate, taught postgraduate and research postgraduate programmes in the areas of Arts, Business and Social Sciences, and our broad curriculum covers an array of general education and interdisciplinary courses to provide students with a firm knowledge foundation across different subjects. We groom students to think critically and creatively, judge independently, care genuinely, and act appropriately and responsibly, and we prepare them to pursue their goals in a rapidly changing environment.
Research
Lingnan University encourages faculty and students to contribute to society through research and knowledge transfer. Our sizable pool of experienced scholars in the arts, business and social sciences disciplines combine scholarly work with applied, policy-oriented research, and address topics in areas like finance, fiscal and monetary policy, cultural policy, creative industries, health and ageing, population, and institutions and governance.
Career
Career Advising Services of SSC assists students to make informed career choices commensurate with their talents, interests and aptitude in preparation for employment after graduation. Career education and development programmes are organized to guide students through different phases of the career planning stage. Recruitment talks and placement activities are held throughout the year to provide the latest job market information and channels for direct interaction with employers.

QS World University Rankings is one of the top international rankings measuring the popularity and performance of universities all over the world. They measure university reputation based on the impressions of higher education experts, companies who hire graduates, and teaching quality. QS also considers the ratio of international teachers and students present at universities, as well as the times research papers were mentioned by researchers. After calculating and comparing these criteria, QS ranks the universities accordingly.

Student services
To further complement these activities, Student Services Centre administers various mentoring schemes to cater for the development needs of students at different learning stages.
Housing services
ll exchange students are required to live on-campus and share room with a non-exchange student during the entire period of study at Lingnan. Rooms are randomly assigned. There are a total of 10 student hostels providing residential places to students in air-conditioned rooms.
Library services
The Lingnan University Library is located at Patrick Lee Wan Keung Academic Building with three storeys including the ground floor. It was added 2 new floors in and now the Library occupies 1/F to 4/F, together with other offices of the University.
ICT services
Being operated by the Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) Ltd, the Hong Kong Academic and Research Network (HARNET) is the high-speed advanced network infrastructure built to facilitate the exchange of information for academic, educational, research, collaboration of Hong Kong higher educations.

Medical services
Lingnan recommends all incoming students to get suitable and adequate insurance covering travel, personal accident, medical expenses (accident and non-accident), hospitalisation and emergency evacuation / repatriation throughout the entire period of your study at Lingnan.

We offer plenty of sports programmes for students to develop a healthy lifestyle and provide a variety of sports facilities for promotion of students’ total well-being.
