Founded in 1957, California State University Fullerton (CSUF) is a major regional university in an area that includes Orange County, metropolitan Los Angeles and the Inland Empire. The University’s beautiful 240-acre (97-hectare) campus is about 25 miles (40 kilometers) from downtown Los Angeles and 20 miles from nearby beaches.
Cal State Fullerton has more than 37,000 students and approximately 1,800 full- and part-time faculty members. The University offers 107 degree programs in eight colleges.In 1957, Cal State Fullerton became the 12th state college in California to be authorized by the Legislature as a degree-granting institution. The following year, a site was designated for the campus to be established in northeast Fullerton. The property was purchased in 1959. This is the same year that Dr. William B. Langsforf was appointed as the founding president of the school.
The University will conduct interviews, reference checks, fingerprinting and other selection activities for the purpose of determining an applicant's qualifications. All offers of employment to new employees are contingent upon presentation of documents demonstrating the appointee's identity and work authorization consistent with the provisions of the Immigration Reform and Control Act. Additionally, new employees will be required to complete the Oath of Allegiance as part of the sign in process.

The Pollak Library at California State University, Fullerton serves over 37,000 students and 2,100 full- and part-time faculty members. Established in 1959, the Library was officially renamed the The Paulina June and George Pollak Library in 1998 in recognition of a $1 million donation received from the Pollaks.
The Cal State Fullerton Department of Athletics utilizes and maintains several facilities for competition and administration of 15 intercollegiate athletic programs.
Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC); nationally accredited in art, athletic training, business, chemistry, communications, communicative disorders, computer science, dance, engineering, music, nursing, public administration, public health, social work, teacher education and theater.
