Description

The Schweitzer Research and Creative Activities Award provides support for undergraduate and graduate students engaged in academic research or creative activities while pursuing a degree in any major within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.

The scholarship offers a $500 amount to help you with your studies.

Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a continuing undergraduate or graduate student in any academic department or program within the College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
  • Maintain a GPA of 2.5 or above.
  • Demonstrate financial need by filing the 2025–26 FAFSA or California Dream Act Application (CADAA).
  • Show evidence of timely progress toward graduation.
  • Present at the HSS Week Symposium in April, or provide evidence of a presentation at another comparable venue.

The application also requires the following essay: in 500 words or less, please describe the importance of your research or creative activities to your personal, academic, and/or professional development.

Please include in your essay an explanation of your plan to present at the HSS Week Symposium or at another comparable venue.
