About

History

Yeditepe University was founded in 1996 by the Istanbul Education and Culture Foundation (ISTEK) in line with Ataturk’s principles, with its pioneering and distinguished academic and administrative staff, aims to raise young people that are modern, inquisitive, equipped with all the qualifications that are needed in business world and all the technological skills necessary.

Education

Yeditepe University continues its academic activities with 6 departments at the School of Applied Sciences and 13 faculties namely the Faculties of Dentistry, Pharmacy, Education, Arts and Sciences, Fine Arts, Law, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Communication, Engineering, Architecture, Health Sciences, Medicine and Commerce entailing 77 undergraduate, 4 associate degree programs. The university also offers 82 MA and 43 Ph.D. programs in the Graduate Schools of Atatürk’s Principles and History of Revolution, Educational Sciences, Science, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences. Since its establishment, Yeditepe University, whose language of education is English.

Student services

Yeditepe University Psychological Counseling and Support Unit provides guidance and counseling services to students since 2001 to help in their academic, social and personal development during their education at the university.

Housing services

  • Our campus, located in the central Ataşehir district of Istanbul, is home to women’s and men’s halls of residence with atotal bed capacity of 4250. Students may benefit from the accommodation facilities provided on our fully quipped campus spread over 123-thousand-square-meter land.  
  • The majority of rooms in halls are for two-person occupancy. All the necessary amenities are included in the rooms, including en-suite toilets and showers, mini refrigerators, desks for each student, chairs, glass bookshelves, mirrored wardrobes and other furniture made of non-inflammable material. Moreover, 24-hour internet connection is available.

Medical services

  • Doctors, nurses and paramedics are available 24/7 at the Medical Center for first aid and emergency assistance to the students and staff at Yeditepe.
  • Additionally, the Medical Center provides round-the-clock ambulance service for students and staff.
  • Health services given here range from physical examination, small-scale surgical operations, dressings, injections, IV’s and medical observation.

Campus life

  • Yeditepe University as being a leader institute in many aspects; has goals to foster environmental awareness and sustainability in the community. Yeditepe University has several sustainability efforts to achieve sustainable campus life. Major categories considered for sustainability practices are;  campus setting and infrastructure, energy and climate change, wastes, water conservation, transportation and education.
  • Our campus, located in the central Ataşehir district of Istanbul, is home to women’s and men’s halls of residence with atotal bed capacity of 4250. Students may benefit from the accommodation facilities provided on our fully quipped campus spread over 123-thousand-square-meter land.  

Sports facilities

Our sports facilities cover a wide range of indoor and outdoor branches, offering students many opportunities for exercise. The indoor facilities, located in the Recreational Hall, include two volleyball and basketball courts – one with tiered spectator seating – a squash court, a fitness center, a semi-Olympic swimming pool – again, with seating area – and a table tennis area. These are complemented by outdoor facilities like a swimming pool, sports areas for basketball, volleyball and tennis, and an Astroturf soccer pitch.

Accreditation

  • With an understanding of education at global standards, Yeditepe University, the first foundation university in Turkey to be awarded by the European University Association (EUA) Institutional Evaluation Program, has been qualified following inspections of national and international accreditation institutions. 
  • Yeditepe University, having been accredited in 12 fields and successfully passing many accreditation processes, continues on its course with the aim of constantly improving its quality of education, thus providing students and faculty members the opportunity to participate in international projects with its international cooperation agreements.
