Florida International University was established after Senate Bill 711 was signed in 1965, transforming a vision for a new Miami university into reality on a former airfield. Officially named in 1969 with Chuck Perry as its founding president, FIU has since become one of the nation’s largest public research universities. This university is very good overall. There are several opportunities for all kinds of interests. My course, International Relations, is very complete. In fact, I wouldn't expect it to have any math related subjects, yet it does. The university overall offers dozens of courses that are very regarded nationally and internationally. Law and Med School, for example, are one of the best ones in the country, if not the best. It also offers great support and accessibility for disabled students, such as those in the autism spectrum.
The building is nice and classy. The setup is cool and accommodate everyone. The temperatures in the building are friendly. The infrastructure is also equivalent to the student present at the University.
We didnt get orientation when we got here and we had to figure out how to go about the classes and our advisers on our own. However the classes are taken serious and our teachers are good and understanding. Transport wise for peaple from Lefko?a we would like it if they increase the number of buses that go there

Walk through GC and you might hear students playing video games in the Piano Room or see a fraternity dance off in the Pit. Head upstairs to grab a coffee in the Barnes & Nobles bookstore or visit the student newsroom and radio station. It's different every day at GC, so stop by. But don't step on the university seal at the entrance – it's bad luck.
At FIU we offer Sport Clubs which are organizations created and run by students who seek instruction, recreation, competition and socialization in sports activities at levels typically not provided through recreation, physical education classes or intercollegiate athletics. Open to novices as well as the experienced participant, these clubs have been developed over the years through student interest and leadership. Members' success has been demonstrated through such accomplishments as local, state, regional, and national championships.

Students can join sports and esports clubs, music ensembles, theater groups, dance teams, art and photography clubs, debate and Model UN, chess club, robotics and coding organizations, cultural and faith-based groups, and volunteer organizations. The Student Government Association (SGA) funds and supports these activities, and students can participate by joining existing clubs or even creating their own.
Florida International University (FIU) is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to confer associate, bachelor's, master's, specialist, and doctoral degrees. In addition, the university is authorized to offer certificates and diplomas at approved academic levels. FIU undergoes reaffirmation of its accreditation by SACSCOC every ten years.
