We trace our history back to 1865, when the School of Art first opened in the Old Free Library in Cardiff. Since we developed into a university, we have remained rooted in Wales while providing practice-focused and professionally oriented education to students from around the globe.

The Healthy University Strategy has evolved from the bottom up with commitment from all parts of the University, including the Students Union and is very much informed by the staff and student voice. The strategy largely developed out of a series of staff and student 'road shows' and other consultation opportunities which were held throughout 2015/16
Cardiff Met Sport, the Students' Union and the Cardiff School of Sport & Health Sciences work in partnership to support the student sport and recreation experience in the University. It has a good Athletics Community, but the overall community(as in, societies etc) is pretty poor with not many societies and even alot of one's shown don't seem to be existing anymore
