About

History

The International Hellenic University (IHU) was established in October 2005 by Law No. 3391 and is based in Thessaloniki, Greece. The IHU is Greece’s first public university where programmes are taught exclusively in English

Education

The University specializes in offering postgraduate programmes aimed at international students who are interested in studying in Greece but also at Greek students seeking an international outlook. The language of both instruction and administration for all of its programmes is English. The IHU’s target is to develop as one of Europe’s leading research and academic institutions. As a state university, all degrees awarded are accredited by the Government and are recognized in the European Union and internationally.

Research

The School of Economics and Business Administration & Legal Studies of the International Hellenic University (IHU) would like to invite you to the next presentation in the Research Seminar Series. Marc Stierand, Assistant Professor of Service Management at École Hôtelière de Lausanne will present the topic of “Using Qualitative Research to Explore the Development of Creativity in Practice”.

Career

The Careers Office mission is to equip students with the skills they need to survive and thrive in an uncertain and demanding job market. During this semester, two new services were introduced which aim at increasing students’ employability: mock Assessment Centres & Practice on Psychometric Tests

Housing services

Indicative monthly rents for the various types of apartment are as follows:

  • Studios and one-bedroom apartment 220-350 €
  • Two bedroom apartment 350-450 €
  • Three bedroom apartment 450-550 €

Library services

  • Over 14.000 books (titles) relating to the modules taught on the courses
  • Subscription to a wide variety of online databases and electronic journals

Medical services

All students of the International Hellenic University who are not covered by any other health insurance may receive treatment, including hospitalisation and medication.

Student Life

Campus life

The University is situated on a 16,000m² campus outside Thessaloniki, specifically developed to facilitate modern learning methods.

The city of Thessaloniki, named after the sister of Alexander the Great, is the second largest in Greece and has an uninterrupted history of 2,300 years. It is also the city with the highest numbers of University students.

Famous for its lively streets, vibrant night life and cultural signature, Thessaloniki is also the perfect cosmopolitan destination for any visitor

Student clubs

The International Hellenic University has organized, together with its students, a number of Social Clubs, which are free of charge for all IHU students & alumni! All the clubs meet once a week on the IHU premises!

Accreditation

As a Greek state University, all degrees awarded are accredited by the Government and are recognized in the European Union and internationally.

The International Hellenic University is a Diploma Supplement Label Holder for the period 2012-2015.
