In 2015, Lakehead University marked five decades as a place of exceptional and unconventional learning.
Alumni from across the globe, Thunder Bay and Orillia community members, students, volunteers, faculty, and staff came together to engage, celebrate, and share this milestone with us.
At Lakehead University, we strive to encourage, support, and enhance the commercialization of intellectual property and assist its researchers in transferring knowledge and technology to those outside the University Community. Critical to these goals are the development and maintenance of research and business partnerships, which include industry, government, and other universities.
As a comprehensive and research-intensive university, Lakehead strives to nurture discovery, support innovation, and advance achievement. Through close collaboration with local and global communities, ideas put forth by our talented researchers and students have created meaningful impacts and led to the emergence of new companies and industries.
With over 55,000 alumni around the world and an employment rate of 94.4% within two years of graduation, Lakehead has proven that a student-centred focus fosters academic success and nurtures the unconventional learning paths that lead to exceptional experiences in university and beyond.
