General requirements

Applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements of the WSU Graduate School. These requirements include a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 or better GPA. No GRE is required.
Admission requirements include a background in an area of food science, agriculture, or related field; or documented evidence of coursework or work experience in these areas. Without this relevant background, students may be required to complete 6 to 9 semester credits of prerequisite courses at the beginning of their degree program, and these courses may or may not be counted toward the degree program requirements.
Prospective international students must have the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree from an approved institution. Usually this is a minimum of four years of study beyond grade 12.
A grade point average equivalent to a U.S. grade of “B” or better is required.
