Overview
Through 33 credit hours of courses form the Dietetics and Nutrition program at University of Dayton, you'll build knowledge and skills in counseling, leadership, evidenced-based research and practice, and public policy.
Advanced topics in food insecurity, food science, management and sustainability and advanced clinical nutrition are designed to expand knowledge and skills to challenge you to investigate and critically think through solutions to issues in these areas.

- Mission: Provide an interdisciplinary graduate degree in dietetics and nutrition in order to develop proficient and professional entry-level dietitian nutritionists who practice in diverse settings and are leaders in their field.
- Vision: Our dietetic graduate students will thrive in an integrative and interdisciplinary academic environment where experiential-learning, professionalism, leadership, and evidence-based practice are at the forefront of student learning and development.
Careers
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential allows you to work in a variety of settings to provide medical nutrition therapy. People who have earned the RDN credential can practice in the following professional settings:
- Adult intensive care settings
- Community Nutrition curriculum development/delivery (i.e., SNAP-Ed, WIC, etc.)
- Digestive care nutrition practitioner
- Integrative and functional medicine
- Long-term care dietitian
- Neonatal intensive care setting
- Nutrition counseling
