Description
In response to the issues that have affected families whose lives have been upended by hurricanes and other natural disasters, the OVC Scholarship Network is extending a helping hand to those in need. Through our Natural Disaster Relief Scholarship, the OVC Scholarship Network provides a $1,000 award each semester to a student who has been greatly impacted by natural disasters within the United States in the last 10 years.

Eligibility
Candidates for the Natural Disaster Relief Scholarship must meet each of the following criteria:
- They and/or their immediate family were affected by a natural disaster within the United States in the last 10 years.
- Eligible natural disasters include hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, earthquakes, etc.
- They are an undergraduate, graduate, or law student attending school at an accredited school within the United States in the current or upcoming semester.
- They are at least 17 years of age.
- They are a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

Applicants must submit contact information, details about the school they will be attending in the upcoming semester, and other basic information.
To demonstrate eligibility, an applicant must provide proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited school within the United States, which may include: a letter of enrollment, an acceptance letter, a class schedule, or an unofficial transcript.
Finally, each applicant must submit a video of 3 to 5 minutes in length answering the following prompt:
Discuss how you and your family were affected by a specific natural disaster in your area.
Using video or pictures, elaborate on how the natural disaster impacted your life as a whole, what effects you still see today, and how this scholarship would help you.
