The history of the UAB begins on 6 June 1968, when the decree on the creation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is officially promulgated. Since its first years, the UAB strived to set the foundations for a university model based on the respect for the basic principles of autonomy, participation and social commitment.

On arriving on the UAB campus, the first step is to visit the International Welcome Point office, specifically for students, teaching staff and administrative staff from other countries. Each UAB faculty also has an office to help international students. This office will offer you information about the faculty or university school where you are going to study.
The UAB Library Service provides bibliographical and documental support to educational and research activities. It consists of seven libraries in the campus of Bellaterra, one in the campus of Sabadell and four at the educational units in agreement with hospitals. The UAB Library Service is member of the Consortium of University Libraries of Catalonia and of the University Libraries Network.
The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona works, promotes and develops the application of information and communication technologies (ICT) for the entire university community. Currently, new systems, platforms and support applications are being prepared in accordance with the needs of our educational network.
The Health Care Service is a support service for the university community where the material, economic and human resources that UAB is intended to provide physical, instrumental and personal support to preventive actions are organized and made available to students, for the promotion of health, health care and research in the field of health.
