The history of the UAB begins on 6 June 1968, when the decree on the creation of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is officially promulgated. One month later the first four faculties are created: Philosophy and Arts, Medicine, Science and Economics.
This is a research-oriented degree programme providing a solid training in the main perspectives of each specialisation offered. Career options once the degree is completed include: research and PhD studies, a higher qualification to undertake the teaching of English at primary or university level education, English for business purposes such as publishing houses or media companies, research or a PhD programme.
The mentor figure is mainly aimed at bringing international and local students into contact. Thus, you can have a “buddy” to count on and share good times with, to make your stay at the University and your time in Barcelona much better. You will be assigned a student from your faculty. Not only will he/she be a friend to call on whenever you need, but he/she will also help you if you need a hand on any matter. Your mentor will be there for you especially during your first days here in Barcelona and at the UAB, and also throughout the academic year. He/she will advise you when enrolling in the courses, finding a place to live, deciding where to go out and what to visit, etc.

My experience at UAB was very pleasant, I met a lot of unforgettable friends and I learnt a lot. I think that now I'm prepared to understand and participate in any laboratory. However, it is a really time-demanding and a very exigent course so it requires a full-time availability.
I've liked everything I've studied very much overall, but I feel like exams are outdated as an examination method for programming courses.
I love the university due to his natural surrounding. The experience is what I expected. There is always something we could work for improving student life
