Overview

The Research and Innovation in Computer based Science and Engineering program offered by Autonomous University of Barcelona has a work placement programme which allows you to work with research groups within the university or in centres and institutes based in the region of Barcelona which cover areas requiring advanced computational techniques, such as the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC), the ALBA synchrotron, the Scientific Information Port (PIC), the Computer Vision Center (CVC), the Institute for Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) and the Institute for Biotechnology and Biomedicine (IBB), among others.

General requirements

The student profile par excellence is a graduate in Computer Science or the holder of a related bachelor’s degree in the area of ICT. It is also open to students with other engineering degrees or from areas related to mathematics or natural science, who have received basic training in mathematics and computing. In this case students must demonstrate, through their academic record, sufficient knowledge in the areas of programming, information systems and computer architecture and technology.
Access to this master's degree is open to holders of an official bachelor's degree from a Spanish university or from another higher education institution within or outside the European Higher Education Area, provided this gives access to postgraduate studies in the country of issue.
