History

  • 2010  - our history begins
  • 2011 -  first research publication under NU name
  • 2014 - the establishment of a Technopark 
  • 2015 - the establishment of the National Laboratory Astana on NU basis
  • 2016 - ABC Quick Start Acceleration Program was launched at NU to give students an opportunity to build startups.
  • 2019 - NU 5th Anniversary Graduation 

Education

We are a research-oriented university with a wide portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs ranging from STEM to social sciences and business. The Nazarbayev University Foundation Year Program (NUFYP) is a one-year intensive programme that provides an academic, scientific and language proficiency preparation to the undergraduate programmes of NU. All programmes are taught in English. 

Research

NU has a strong research culture and a community of academic staff who continue to strengthen our excellent platform for research. 2,134 is a number of International researchers at NU during the period 2011-2018. Our research are supported by internal and external funds each year and carried out in state of the art laboratories.  

Career

Nazarbayev University has 3,741 graduates for the period of 2015-2019.

  • 60% of them have been employed, including to world-renowned companies such as Apple, Google Inc., BMW, Amazon, Booking.com and etc.
  • 29% of graduates continued their studies to get Master’s and doctoral degrees.  
  • 34 companies have been launched by NU graduates.
NU Career and Advising Center promotes lifelong skills through career workshops and professional development programs. The Center establishes partnerships with internship providers and employers to help in recruiting NU students and alumni through on-campus recruitment events, field trips, etc.

Strong professors, passionate about their subject. Quite difficult tasks in mathematics and physics lessons, interesting topics in history lessons, but since we have just started, we discover basic topics in computer science lectures, so I'm waiting for more difficult ones. University life does not sleep, the clubs do their job.

Nazarbayev University is an autonomous research university in Nur-Sultan, the capital of Kazakhstan. Founded as a result of the initiative of the first President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev in 2010, it is an English-medium institution, with an international faculty and staff.
