American International College was founded in 1885 by the Reverend Mr. Calvin E. Amaron, who persuaded other enlightened clergy to assist in the establishment of a college that would provide the youth of his ethnic group, French Canadians, with access to higher education.
The mission of the College is to transform student lives through career focused learning, with a strong foundation in the liberal arts, a commitment to serving the community, and a high level of involvement in the global economy.

Students who live on campus may choose from traditional coeducational residence halls, one all-female residence hall, and residential suites (primarily upperclassmen).
The mission of James J. Shea Sr. Memorial Library is to assist the American International College community in their quest for knowledge by providing resources and services that support information literacy, encourage life-long learning and promote personal fulfillment.
Located in Amaron Basement 12, Academic Computing’s primary role is to support to the AIC community in the use of classroom, media, and web technologies with a priority focus on academic courses and academic events. We do support non-academic, extracurricular (e.g. clubs & organizations) and special events based on availability of staffing and resources.
The mission of Dexter Health Services, in alignment with the College’s mission, is to provide quality, convenient, and cost-effective healthcare and wellness education that helps our students achieve personal fulfillment and professional achievement.
There are three residence halls on campus and two near our athletic fields. Living on campus is a great way to connect with other students — and the college itself.
So when it comes to keeping students’ bodies strong, we’ve got you covered with our Falconer Fitness Center featuring a 10-station Paramount circuit, Stairmasters, Precor treadmills, ellipticals, stationery bikes, and complete locker room facilities. Plus intramurals and club sports that let you enjoy your favorite sports in a no-pressure environment. And of course, the Yellow Jackets, AIC’s NCAA sports teams, offer student athletes another opportunity to push themselves.
Participating in student clubs and organizations is a great way to get involved at AIC and immerse yourself in our community. It’s also a way to meet new people, explore career opportunities, and have a huge impact on campus events.
American International College has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).
