Student Life

Campus life

One of MSU's greatest assets is its location. Simply walking around our beautiful campus gives you ample views of five different mountain ranges and a lifetime of exploration. Bozeman is known as one of the top towns for outdoor recreation and high quality of life in the country. When you fly in over the Bridger Range or drive into the valley and find yourself surrounded by mountains, it's easy to understand why people want to live, work and play here. Add the cultural amenities of a local symphony and ballet, the vibrancy of a college community, and an energetic downtown-Bozeman is the complete package.

Sports facilities

Our most notable facility is the Bobcat Stadium, home of the MSU Bobcats college football team which seats 17,777 people. Brick Breeden Fieldhouse is a 7,250.-seat arena that is the home of the men's and women's basketball teams, indoor track and field teams, and frequently hosts concerts and rodeo events. The Marga Hosaues Fitness Center includes a training room, indoor pool, running track, and tennis courts, as well as a 7-meter bouldering wall, group classes, personal fitness, and much more. MSU also has an Outdoor Recreation Program which provides the university community with opportunities for adventure, discovery, personal growth and engagement via human-powered outdoor adventure pursuits.

Student clubs

Montana State University has over 250 student run clubs and organizations and almost $170,000 in funds raised from various sources available for the 2016-2017 school year.

The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) provides and facilitates student engagement opportunities for MSU students through a variety of programs, events, services, and activities. We are THE HUB for students interested in connecting with their fellow Bobcats through student government, student organizations, programs and events, and engaging in service to the community.

MSU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. During its most recent re-accreditation, MSU was commended for an "extremely high level of productivity and effectiveness."
