About

History

Yeshiva University has grown from a small yeshiva offering some secular education to Jews on the Lower East Side of Manhattan in 1886 to a prestigious, multifaceted institution that integrates the knowledge of Western civilization and the rich treasures of Jewish culture.

March 1928 Yeshiva College, the first college of liberal arts and sciences under Jewish auspices, is established.

Education

Some of the world's leading minds make their home in Yeshiva University's classrooms. Beyond a commitment to research and writing, YU faculty members and Roshei Yeshiva [professors of Talmud] engage and inspire their students, drawing them into a continuing pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. They value close interactions with their students and the opportunity to engage with students outside the classroom setting, whether it's meeting informally to continue a discussion started in the classroom or collaborating in the laboratory on new research.

Research

Research at Yeshiva University is a collaborative process in every sense of the word and a testament to our dedication and commitment to continue as a vibrant research community. Whether it's our faculty of scholars and scientists who publish often and include undergraduates in their research, or students engaging one another through scientific inquiry, the results are undeniable: our students develop powerful analytical skills while contributing to new thinking and discovery.

Career

The goal of the Career Center is to educate and empower you to succeed at every stage of your career. We offer a range of programs and resources to undergraduate and graduate students and alumni - from personalized counseling and career planning to the latest professional search technologies.
