The history of the Politecnico di Milano in Bovisa began twenty years ago when it took over the readapted old Ceretti & Tanfani plant where they used to manufacture cables for cable cars, which is now the Bovisa Campus. The campus of the School of Design is situated alongside other important buildings, such as the School of Architecture and the School Engineering.

With offerings that include more than 50 educational products, including university master’s programs and advanced professional training programs, all devoted to exploring design culture across the board, POLI.design provides young university graduates and professionals who want to specialize or to improve their training with instruction programs to cover a variety of application domains. These range from industrial products to interiors, from fashion to communication, and from services to cultural projects.

Housing services

The campus of the School of Design and the headquarters of POLI.design are located in Bovisa, a district to the North of the city, not far from the city centre, in a place that is symbolic of the industrial Milan of the past. The district is currently undergoing a broad process of urban transformation, and is set to become a centre of excellence for higher education, research, and innovation.
