
Overview
In this College Student Development program from Kansas State University , students complete 33 credit hours of core requirements in addition to 6 credit hours aligned with one of two options: The Student Affairs Administration option is most appropriate for those intending to work in various functional areas in student affairs in higher education. The Social Justice Education option is appropriate for those who wish to pursue a focus on social justice education within their work in higher education settings.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of the historical, philosophical, ethical, and cultural foundations of higher education, of student identities and characteristics, and of the effects of college on students.
- Students will demonstrate knowledge and application of theories and principles of student development, and the organization and administration of student affairs.
- Students will demonstrate proficiency of assessment, evaluation, and research.
- Students will demonstrate the ability to critically evaluate, synthesize, and communicate information orally and in writing.
- Students will demonstrate ethical and professional competencies and standards in both the classroom environment and the workplace.
