Overview
The Special Education - The Master Teacher program from Central Michigan University will expand your skills and knowledge to new areas of special education as you prepare for a broad range of teaching and administrative roles. You'll focus on current issues in special education, curriculum development, evaluation, and research to address the unique needs and challenges of the field.
We also offer courses toward an additional endorsement in the areas of cognitive impairment, specific learning disability, or autism spectrum disorders.

- This program is available only to individuals who hold PreK-12 general or special education certification.
- This program may be available to individuals with undergraduate degrees interested in working specifically with students with cognitive impairment.

- Along with the application, you’ll need to submit a $50 application fee
- Submit a copy of your passport
- Submit proof of English proficiency or your intent to study English upon arrival – unless you are from an exempted country where English is the primary language of instruction.
- You also may demonstrate English proficiency by completing the English studies program through CMU's English Language Institute.
- Applicants must provide a third-party course-by-course credential evaluation and document verification
