About Accounting and Law Dual Degree at Saint Louis University

An attorney with an accounting degree has the distinct analytical training and in-depth perspective of each field, equipping them with a comprehensive approach that helps their clients avoid blind spots when problem-solving and serves as a tremendous asset to any company. An accounting degree adds value in any legal practice, particularly corporate law, securities law, tax law and policy, and estate law and planning.

The dual-degree program at SLU enables students to complete both degrees in significantly less time and expense than obtaining the degrees separately. Eighteen credit hours are cross-applied, bringing the total number of required credit hours from 121 to 103. Students have the advantage of learning from renowned professors in both schools and tapping into each school's respective alumni network, while receiving distinctive training rooted in service and ethical leadership.

Careers

Graduates from this program may take the CPA exam and pursue a career as an accountant. Master of Accounting graduates have a long history of success on the CPA exam, regularly exceeding both the Missouri and national averages. The mean annual wage of accountants in the St. Louis area, according to the Bureau of Labor, was $77,520 as of May 2019.

If you are applying to enter SLU as a first-time, freshman student, we’ll also ask you to complete an essay.

There is no application fee to apply for undergraduate admission to SLU.

Send transcripts of all secondary work.

Submit proof of your English language proficiency.
