Curriculum
The Bowling Green State University master’s of Food and Nutrition degree program requires completing 39-40 total graduate credit hours. All students start with the core food and nutrition courses which cover micro and macro nutrients, phytochemicals and how these play into clinical nutrition, community nutrition and weight management programs.
The cognate, or minor, courses can be tailored to your personal or professional interests. Choose from a wide variety of courses covering public health, clinical nutrition, psychology, exercise physiology, education and scientific writing.
Required courses on research methods, statistics and seminars on current topics ensure all students can use evidence-based research and critically evaluate all dietetic resources.
Finally, a thesis, master’s project or comprehensive exam is taken. Decided in conjunction with the Graduate Coordinator and/or Major Advisor choices vary by student interest and career plans.
