About Publishing at Rosemont College. For many aspiring publishing professionals, working with children's, middle grade or young adult literature is a dream come true. The program offers Children's Books as an area of focus , with courses including "Libraries and K-12 Trade Publishing" and "Children's Picture Books." Specialized courses in writing for Young Adult and Middle Grade readers are offered by the the MFA in Creative Writing program, and students pursuing the Double Degree in Creative Writing and Publishing can take advantage of these courses in both programs.

If your interests lie in design or social media, you can take courses with a digital focus such as Design 1: Digital Foundations, "Marketing and Promoting Books" and "Branding and Social Media." Editorial

Understanding contracts, managing resources, gathering data to make informed decisions, supervising and coordinating with co-workers and others—an editor’s work goes well beyond the page. Courses such as "Small Press Practices," "Role of the Literary Agent," and "Editorial Roles in Publishing" show you editorial work from different depths and perspectives, allowing you to learn the concepts and skills needed to manage a project from its initial concept to publication.
