More information, more training, more contacts, less time--earn two degrees in only three years. The MFA in Creative Writing and MA in Publishing Double Degree program offers students the best of both programs in a compressed time.

Students who complete Rosemont's Double Degree program graduate with a full-length creative work for their MFA in Creative Writing and a thesis or capstone project for their MA in Publishing. The projects often support each other.

Double Degree students still have the opportunity to intern, and students with the Double Degree have more opportunities to write, publish, and teach.

Students will focus their studies on one concentration for each discipline:

  Creative Writing Concentrations
  • Creative Non-fiction
  • Dramatic Writing
  • Novel Writing
  • Poetry
  • Short Fiction
  • Writing for Children and Young Adults
Publishing Areas of Focus
  • Children's, Middle Grade and Young Adult
  • Digital
  • Editorial

Programme Structure

The Double Degree Program allows students to earn both an MFA in Creative Writing and an MA in Publishing. This gives students access to more information and more professional contacts, all for less time and less cost. Students in this program will benefit from full-length creative work for their MFA, and a thesis or capstone project for their MA. These projects support one another, giving the student a well-rounded academic experience.

Our location provides you with access to additional educational opportunities at Rosemont, and exciting employment and networking opportunities in Philadelphia and along the East Coast. Students pursuing the MA in Publishing degree begin or advance their careers by interning or working while they study, adding to their academics with hands-on experience and practical workplace knowledge.
