This department of the Art History and Library Science (Dual) program, that is offered at Indiana University Bloomington, you will gain a dual M.A./M.L.S. degree in Art History and Library Science.

In this exceptional three-year program, students take art history courses in African, American, Ancient Greek and Roman, Contemporary, East Asian, Islamic, Medieval, Modern European, and Renaissance and Baroque art alongside courses in the Department of Information and Library Science that lead to M.L.S. specializations in Rare Books and Manuscripts; Archives and Records Management; Digital Content, Curation, and Collections; and the Digital Humanities.

Dual M.A./M.L.S. students complete all required courses and language requirements for each degree in three years. It is a cost-effective, rigorous program that leads to a terminal degree accredited by the American Library Association.

Bachelor’s degree with a major in Art History. Students with majors in other disciplines with a demonstrable background in art history are also welcome to apply.

GPA of 3.5 expected. Appropriate level of achievement on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test (verbal, 160). Statement of Purpose, C.V., writing sample, three letters of recommendation.
