Overview
At World Languages Education from University of Oklahoma recent graduates teach world languages at all grade levels, work as curriculum developers and writers, serve as curriculum directors for their local school districts, work as professional development experts, and are on faculty as world language educators at universities throughout the United States. World languages education continues to be a high-need area and, as such, graduates from this program are in high-demand at both the PK-12 school level and in higher education.
To increase knowledge and proficiency in the target language and culture, students are strongly encouraged to participate in one of the many study abroad opportunities offered through the University of Oklahoma.
Careers
The World Languages Education graduate program prepares students to continue and expand on their work as teachers of world languages at a variety of levels including PK-12 school systems and higher education. Designed to build on the experiences of PK-12 world language teachers, the program explores ways to teach languages in authentic and meaningful ways through the use of comprehension-based communicative teaching and learning.

- Applicants for programs leading to the Master of Education degree in the Department of Instructional Leadership must present the degree of Bachelor of Arts or Science in any discipline as conferred by the University of Oklahoma or the equivalent, and meet all the prerequisites for graduate courses.
