Description

The Empowering Change Scholarship is offered by the Graduate Institute of International Development, Agriculture and Economics (GIIDAE) to a number of scholars who have demonstrated their suitability for the scholarship and have a track record of outstanding academic achievement. 

Benefits

The scholarship is made of up a number of awards worth £10,000 each and is open to students from a World Bank member low or middle income country and subject to international fees who are studying on any of GIIDAE’s programmes taught full time at the University (see the list below). The funds are split between £5,000 towards living expenses and £5,000 applied as a tuition reduction.

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be students liable to pay overseas tuition fees.

To be considered, applicants must have an offer of a place on one of the programmes listed below at the time of application:

  • MSc Environment, Climate Change and Development

A selection committee will consider applications and award funding at regular intervals leading up to the final eligibility deadline date of 1 May 2026.  Successful applicants only will be notified by 1 June 2026.  The decision of the Selection Committee is final and not subject to appeal.
