For over 35 years, the University of Haifa International School (UHIS) has successfully attracted students from around the world to study at the undergraduate level. Today close to 1000 students from over 40 different countries are enrolled annually in UHIS programs that are unique in their integrated approach towards the international student.

Students who study full-time in the International School are welcome to live in the student dormitories on campus. There are two dormitory complexes that are open to international students.
The University Library, offering computerized services as well as some two million book and non-book items, is one of the most advanced of its kind in the country. The library houses a large collection of both English and Hebrew books, as well as smaller collections of books in other languages.
There are computer rooms available throughout the University campus as well as in the dormitories for student use. The computers are IBM compatible and are equipped with internet and Microsoft software programs. In order to print, students will need to purchase a print card. Hours of the computer rooms vary depending on location.
Situated on the crest of the Carmel Mountains with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, and nestled beside the Carmel National Forest, the University of Haifa provides an ideal setting for your International Study Abroad and Graduate Studies experience.
The Sports Center includes a gym with a variety of aerobic and weightlifting machines, tennis courts, and several large gyms for basketball, volleyball, and other activities. During the academic year the Sports Center is open Sunday through Thursday from 6:30 until 22:00, and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 until 15:00. Hours in the summer may vary.

The University was established in 1963 under the joint auspices of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Haifa Municipality. In 1972, it gained academic accreditation as a separate institution from the Council for Higher Education.

For international students in the beginning of every semester there is a two-week "shopping period"-students may attend all the classes they want and then choose the courses they want to attend during the whole semester.
