Sustainable business management is at the forefront of Haifa University Faculty of Management’s new one-year Master of Business Administration in Sustainability program. Israel is both a leader water and renewable energy management.

Overview

The Master of Business Administration in Sustainability program offered by the University of Haifa excels in its focus on environmental and social sustainability, two issues key to effective and responsible business practice. As such, the MBA’s combination of high academic standards in an international learning environment, its focus on essential tools for business management, and the acquiring of theoretical and practical tools for implementing sustainability, make it a very valuable and comprehensive business curriculum.

Over the course of the year students will cover a total of 20 core courses from the fields of Business Administration and Environmental Management and Sustainability. A further two elective courses from the field of Environmental Management and Sustainability, and an applied project make up the remainder of the curriculum. In addition to standard MBA subjects such as investments, economics, accounting and marketing among others, students will study subjects such as principles of sustainability, how to assess an impact of a project on surrounding environment, what environmental laws apply, what is a CSR and what management systems to use.

Academic requirements

GPA admission requirements GPA Your GPA, or Grade Point Average, is a number that indicates how well or how high you scored in your courses on average. Usually a GPA scales between 1.0 and 4.0, however different countries and universities can have different grading systems.
GRE admission requirements GRE® The GRE® General Test is a widely administered admissions test that measures the skills needed in today's graduate and business school programs worldwide. It contains three sections - Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. Three scores are reported: a Verbal Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, a Quantitative Reasoning score on a 130 - 170 score scale in one-point increments, and an Analytical Writing score on a 0 - 6 score scale in half-point increments.
GMAT admission requirements GMAT The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a test intended to assess certain analytical, writing, quantitative, verbal, and reading skills in written English for use in admission to a graduate management program, such as an MBA. GMAT contains 4 sections - Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative and Verbal. The score has a range from 200 - 800.

English requirements

IELTS admission requirements IELTS The International English Language Test System (IELTS) tests your English-language proficiency on a scale of 1 – 9. The score refers to the combined average score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading).
TOEFL admission requirements TOEFL® IBT The TOEFL iBT® is given online through the internet at desiganated testing site. The test measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The score refers to the total score of 4 subjects (writing, listening, speaking, and reading), each subject has a range of 0 - 30.
PTE Academic admission requirements PTE Academic PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. The score refers to a total score which ranges between 10 and 90.

Other requirements

General requirements

  • An accredited university undergraduate degree with a minimum grade point average of 80 or the equivalent.
  • Completion of GMAT/GRE/an internal exam with a minimum grade that will be determined periodically.

  • An excellent command of the English language.

  • Qualified candidates will be invited for an interview.

For applicants who hold a foreign bachelor's degree, completion of the GRE exam is required. The minimum grade will apply to both quantitative and verbal parts of the exam. 

Applicants who hold advanced degrees from accredited universities, as well as applicants who hold senior managerial positions, may apply to the school's M.A committee for an exemption from the GMAT/GRE exam.

Funding

Some of the MA programs have a limited number of scholarships available for students based on financial need. Students who are in financial need are encouraged to submit an application. 

In addition to the University of Haifa need-based scholarship you can also submit applications to all other scholarship opportunities for which you are eligible (MASA, local Jewish Federation, etc.).
