i like the freedom i have to broaden my Knowledge

My journey to study abroad
So many memories, new paths and adventures abroad. I have study portals to thank for the guidance. There have been up and downs but I made it through. As a African, I stand in the gap to encourage fellow Africans to take that step no matter how scary it may seem.
International student in The Netherlands
Overall, my study experience has been positive and meaningful. I really enjoy what I study, and I can clearly see myself building a future and a successful career in this field. The program has helped me grow both academically and personally, and I appreciate the international environment and the different perspectives it brings. At the same time, there are some challenges that should be acknowledged. The housing situation can be quite stressful and draining at times, especially at the beginning. However, with persistence, it is possible to find a place, so it should not discourage prospective students too much. Additionally, clearer communication and better organization in some parts of the program would further improve the overall experience. In summary, despite a few challenges, my experience has been rewarding and has confirmed that I chose the right field of study. With some improvements in housing support and organization, the experience could be even better.

Housing services
As most cities in the Netherlands, Eindhoven has a shortage in affordable student accommodation. This means that finding accommodation in Eindhoven can be difficult and time-consuming. It is very common to find accommodation through Facebook groups for rooms in Eindhoven and Tilburg.
Alternatively, if you are a new (first-year) student, Fontys International Office can help with finding accommodation for one year. After that year arranging accommodation is your own responsibility.
Library services
Library TF provides in a large number of (subject-specific) education tools that can be divided into a printed and a digital collection. The collections are compiled and maintained in consultation with the educational content experts from the three institutions.
There are a large number of computers in the Library. On these computers standard software is installed.
Medical services
Everyone in the Netherlands must have insurance cover for medical expenses. The type of health insurance that you will need will depend on your personal situation.
In the Netherlands, the ‘huisarts’ (doctor, general practitioner, GP) provides full medical assistance in accordance with the standards designated for the practice of medicine by medical professionals in the Netherlands.
Campus life
Our international English-taught bachelors and masters programmes are conducted at our campuses located in Eindhoven, Tilburg and Venlo. All campuses are equipped with excellent computer facilities, libraries and student restaurants. Wireless Internet is available throughout the campuses, enabling you to bring your laptop to Fontys and to work, study, search for information and check your e-mail wherever you happen to be at Fontys.
