Fontys University of Applied Sciences

3.8 out of 5 (115 ratings / 86 reviews) Eindhoven, Netherlands
Fontys University of Applied Sciences provides education and research. As a broad-based university, it is the largest public knowledge institute in the southern Netherlands. Fontys aims to be an educational institution that is ‘inspiring growth through support & challenges’ and to be an educational organisation at which students can grow and learn to think more laterally, i.e. to ‘think bigger’.

Technological, societal and economic developments influence and change the world around us, now and in the future. Fontys delivers an important contribution to these necessary changes by meeting more than the needs of the student and the world of the future.

The research conducted at Fontys is practice-based and innovative. It targets the renewal and improvement of the professional practice for which education is provided and is elaborated upon in close consultation with professional practice, preferably within regional knowledge networks. Research contributes directly to curriculum innovation.

Student Reviews

ICT at Fontys
Anonymous rated 4 out of 5 stars
The teachers are great, the programme is interesting yet a bit light for me at the moment. Still, it will provide you with all the necessary knowledge, prepare you for the working life and give you hands-on experience, while you also have enough free time for a part time job and social life.
Getting to learn by doing
Anonymous rated 4 out of 5 stars
I find that the practical-intensive study approach is a great one. I learn more by doing, than writing papers and reports on stuff. Most of the faculty at Fontys is pretty helpful, you just have to learn to ask. The biggest barrier is hesitation on the part of students in approaching teachers.
