The foundation stone for the future University of Siegen was laid by the “Meadow Building School”, founded in 1853 and known beyond the country's borders. After the Second World War, the focus of the training shifted towards civil engineering. Since 1962, the school has therefore been called the "State School of Engineering for Construction".

The overall goal of the University of Siegen is to contribute to a decent future and to take responsibility for people and society. This is expressed in the guiding principle of the University of Siegen: Shaping the future humanely.

The University of Siegen is a dynamically developing, internationally recognized, medium-sized university with a clearly visible research and teaching profile. As a creative place of education, research and innovation, it has positioned itself in the science-political sphere to form an opinion and positioned itself as a visible European university. The university's research profile is based on the guiding principle “Shaping the future of human beings”. In the context of the progressive and increasingly intensely mediatized and autonomously technized digitization, sensory and nanotechnological developments penetrate rapidly and often without reflection into all areas of our lives.

As per professionalism and teacher to student interaction, I find the University of Siegen beyond satisfactory. With weekly update meetings and monthly presentation on each and every individual's research work, the management has helped to keep us updated on every aspect of the ongoing activies. I love the infrastructure and the work culture in this university.

I like my university a lot and received lots of help from the university. However, due to the pandemic I havent had the chance to study on campus. I look forward to upcoming semester.

Too much burocrazy! Everything takes extra long and lots of things to fill out. Focus is on little formalities, not student orientated! The professors are mostly very slow in answering as well. My immatriculation took place one month after the semester started because of burocratic issues that weren't my fault.

Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany
